Crime Prevention Solutions New Zealand specialises in applying and training in the practice of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED).
CPTED is a multi-disciplinary approach to deterring criminal behaviour through environmental design and is usually applied within the built environment and urban areas. It has become common practice for many urban designers and planners to implement it into their designs as they plan new urban areas, parks, buildings and communities. Recently CPTED has begun to be applied in communities where a wider community safety approach is needed, and where community involvement would be beneficial.
