Crime Prevention Solutions NZ is run by Emma McGill, who is based in Wellington, New Zealand. A board member of the International CPTED Association (ICA), Emma has over 15 years of experience in Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED), as a community safety advisor for both Wellington City Council, Victoria University of Wellington, contractor and trainer. An international CPTED association certified practitioner and trained to an advanced level, Emma has completed many CPTED audits, community safety audits and risk assessments for many local authorities and companies over the years. She has worked closely with the NZ Police, local authorities, community groups and organisations to improve safety around the greater Wellington area and its walkways, car parks, railways and parks. Emma has trained both private and government agency staff in CPTED, including the NZ Police, NZ Ministry of Justice, WSP Global Inc, and Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch city councils. Emma has good connections into the industry as well as a solid understanding of alcohol related harm, personal safety, licensed premises CPTED, CCTV, lighting and community audits.
Emma also speaks at conferences and small groups on the basics of CPTED and offers training workshops to teach the next generation of CPTED users in New Zealand. Email emma@zeli.co.nz to start a conversation.
